About Confident Canine Coaching

A good trainer looks at the whole dog. The outcome of a good training program goes beyond the basics of obedience. Our goal is a confident, happy and obedient dog so you can get to living the life you want.

Our training isn't confined to a particular approach or book of methods. With each client-dog team we work with, the goal is to find what works for both of you so you can reach your goals as quickly as possible while enjoying the process.

The training process is centered on finding what motivates your dog so we can show them how to happily do what we want, and move quickly into teaching your dog how to be your best friend.

Good training is based on trust, clarity, and mutual respect between fellow creatures.

Dogs aren't that different from humans. Where they are different and how they communicate is where most get stuck.

We're here to help you understand your dog so you can continue teaching them effectively.

My name is Derek Weaver and I am the trainer and owner at Confident Canine Coaching

Like most dog trainers, I have spent my life around dogs. From a young age, how dogs learned, what they were trying to say with their body language, sighs, barks, mannerisms and so much more fascinated me. They're always talking, but we rarely know how to listen to them.

I founded this company on the belief that most dogs and dog owners get stuck because they simply don't understand one another.

When we understand our dogs and foster a bond based on trust, clarity and cooperation, the rest tends to fall into place.

I'd love to work with you to help you live the greatest and fullest life possible with your best friend.

CORE VALUES
Trust

Most dogs and owners operate from the idea that they love one another and that's enough. Here, we focus on building a trusting, cooperative relationship, powered by the love of a dog and an owner.

Clarity

A confused dog is a dog that will act out. By cleaning up our messages, and understanding what the dog is trying to say, we are more able to reach our goals, and to do it faster.

Health

Not just physical health, but also mental health. A dog who isn't feeling good physically or emotionally is going to struggle. By giving our dogs what they need, they can give us what we want.
